Casting Call
I am calling for actors to appear in my debut short film - The film will be shot over the course a month around various locations in Lancashire. Due to the projects lighting requirements, shooting will begin around mid July/August in the evenings. The film will be a phycological/horror that will be based on the emotions felt in dreams. Previous acting roles are preferred but not necessary if the candidate fits the role and is eager to participate. Please see below a brief description of the film and its characters. Film Tittle
Following an argument with his girlfriend, Leonard, a self-absorbed
photographer navigates his way through a nightmare that forces him to accept responsibility for his actions. As he attempts to cross a haunting landscape, unsettling figures force him to acknowledge his flaws as he strives to make amends. Disturbed by what he has to face in order to achieve peace, he is uncertain if he will ever be the same again.
Roles available
Leonard - Leonard is a self-centred 28 year old. His favourite things concern himself and his interests. He lives his life in accordance with this. He puts himself first and everyone else second - a far second. He treats others and anything that does not interest him with little enthusiasm and he is only interested in things that will benefit him. He has a steady girlfriend and he gives just enough in return for her not to walk away from him. He has some appeal but only just enough for her to stay. He is narcissistic and self centered. The world revolves around him but he gives little effort maintaining that world.
Tilly - Tilly is too good for Leonard and she is slowly coming to realise it but he still has an emotional hold over her. She is dedicated and patient with him but she is reaching the end. She sees the best in people and tries to help anybody she can. She almost always puts herself last and never reflects any resentment about it.
The Uniformed Man - The Uniformed Man is the unnerving presence in any nightmare.The dread that follows you through life. The emptiness in your stomach. The resistance when you try to fight back. He is overwhelming and suffocates your mind. He is without a soul. No emotion is registered within him. He is a machine. A monster.
The Dance Partner - She is the picture of celebration and victory. The image of freedom and solidarity. A small but important role. She is a victim and she doesn’t know it.
The Unlikely Duo - The Unlikely Duo are regimented English gentlemen. They are polite and courteous, stiff upper lip kind of chaps. They have a good sense of humour and morals. These men have it all together. They are refined and self controlled. But they blow once they are not to be messed with.
